The Accra Institute of Technology (AIT) has unveiled a groundbreaking initiative to fully integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) across all aspects of its operations, positioning itself as a global leader in the future of education. This transformative commitment was announced by AIT President, Professor Clement Dzidonu, during the university’s 20th graduation ceremony.
In his address to the graduating class, Professor Dzidonu emphasized the revolutionary role of AI in higher education. “Top universities worldwide are exploring AI’s potential, and AIT is proud to be at the forefront of this revolution,” he stated, highlighting the university’s bold move to enhance both the educational experience and operational efficiency.
AIT’s comprehensive AI integration will span 12 critical stages of the student life cycle, including curriculum development, program delivery, assessments, research, and alumni engagement. The initiative is designed to prepare students for success in an increasingly AI-driven world and cement AIT’s position as a technological innovator.
“Our holistic approach will not only benefit our students but also establish AIT as a global leader in intelligent, innovative education,” Professor Dzidonu added. AIT’s Board of Trustees, which includes six former Vice Chancellors, is developing policy guidelines to ensure the seamless integration of AI and other emerging technologies.
Ranked as Ghana’s top private university and recognized as the Best Technology University for four consecutive years, AIT continues to push the boundaries of technological education and research. The university is accredited by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) and offers programs in affiliation with both Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and the Open University of Malaysia.
